ROCK AROUND THE COUNTIES
 The
Celtic Blue Rock Festival launches a Calendar of gigs at local
village halls around the Counties of West Wales. This is part of
the Festival’s campaign to support and promote Pembrokeshire
and Carmarthenshire’s diverse range of local bands and
music. Let Celtic Blue Rock help you kick away those winter blues
with its first gig of the season at Clarbeston Road Hall on
February 4th at 8pm. Young up and coming new band - The Chaos
Theory will warm you up. Canny the bringer of beats with his
fantastic human beat box break beats will noise you up. Wake up to
the ska punk tones of Johnny Acton Finger and pump it up with in
house guest DJ’s. And if you’re still not all up out
of your seats you soon will be to the funky groovy sound of Nik
Turner’s Galaktikos. Get up ! Get on up now! Get down to
your local village hall! Let the music energise you and blow those
cobwebs away. In addition a following gig is scheduled for May
13th at Llanboidy with the line up and posters distributed at the
4th of February gig. The Celtic Blue Rock Festival this year is
set for Saturday August the 5th and is currently looking for bands
to send demos to: The Festival Office, Fferm Trefawr,
Llanfyrnach, Pembrokeshire SA35 ODQ. Volunteers in the many areas
are also being recruited. Celtic Blue Rock is a charity based
festival. It is a free festival and inclusive to all. As a

community arts festival it’s aim
is to support not only local music but all art forms. Evolving every
year, already established are 4 stages, a craft zone, eco zone and a
fantastic kids and family workshop area. The focus is definitely on
youth with families and youngsters well catered for. Last year the
youth stage rocked to the sound of the finest West Wales teenage
bands. Local Authorities and local development agencies Arts Grants
helped with funding the event, with additional backing from local
businesses. The festival is also forging links with other local
voluntary organisations. Community groups can get involved and use
the festival as a showcase for the good work they do.For all info

Enthusiastic groups and individuals are needed to
volunteer in all areas. Share your skills and learn some new ones.The
festival has plans to develop its community training programme
particularly in the youth sector. Celtic Blue Rock is a festival run
